THE BRIEF To create an office environment for Ogilvy & Mather staff that inspires all who work and visit to think bigger and deliver exceptional creative work for clients. THE IDEA What we do in our day-to-day lives might occasionally seem mundane, but remember this – every day, we are giving the opportunity to make a difference. To teach, to stimulate conversation, to persuade. That’s pretty extraordinary. We wanted to remind all who work at Ogilvy & Mather NZ to remember to look through a different lens, to find that gem of an idea, to make the best work, to make their clients world famous. Every idea starts with a thought. So think different. Round pegs think differently. SOLUTION We built an office environment that is a visual manifesto of what it means to be a different thinker, a round peg in a square hole. The circle form just doesn’t represent the peg but the idea, the thought bubble. This motif reminds all to aim high. Making sure that one is always thinking, how can I make more of a difference to our clients and produce the best creative work? Quotes from key influencers that represent this manifesto adorn the walls of the office in a distinctive memorable way. The bold Ogilvy & Mather colour palette is used to depict these key moments in a highly graphic, sculptural manner. Everyday creative tools and office furniture such as pencils, pens, paper, pins boards and squabs are used to help celebrate this manifesto.
